Electing a CinC: Military support for Bush erodes, but Kerry still trails

Article Abstract:

US President George W. Bush is running the re-election as the 'war president', whereas his opponent Senator John Kerry is running as the decorated war veteran regarded as a hero by his wartime comrades. However, some political experts believe that prolonged and multiple deployments will cause some military families to vote against Bush, but Kerry would still be an unlikely candidate to win this group.

Electing a CinC: Military support for Bush erodes, but Kerry still trails

Article Abstract:

The military support that President George W. Bush had received during the 2000 elections has decreased considerably as the military veterans felt betrayed by the president's refusal to support federal funding for veterans' medical care. Even though Senator John Kerry was decorated as Vietnam veteran, he may not receive many military votes due to his anti-war activity.
