Electric Boat provides project director for Astute class

Article Abstract:

BAE Systems Submarines has approach US submarine-builder General Dynamics Electric Boat for a new project director to head up its Astute-class nuclear attack submarine management organization. Brian Wilson, who would remain an employee of Electric Boat on loan to BAE Systems, takes up his position of project director Astute in succession to Michael Christie, who has departed the post for a position in BAE Systems' air system business.

Astute sets out on the long road to recovery

Article Abstract:

The UK royal Navy's Astute-class nuclear attack submarine programme has suffered a three-year delay due to shortcomings in management, organization and design. Hence, the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) and BAE Systems have signed an agreement to revise the original target-cost incentive-fee contract arrangements for the Astute programme.
