The Secretariat for Strategic Affairs of the President's Office (SAE/PR), in conjunction with the Ministries of Justice and Aeronautics, conceived the Brazilian SIVAM (Sistema de Vigilancia de Amazonia, Amazon Surveillance System) project in order to ensure overall control over 'Legal Amazon'. SIVAM is a network for the collection and processing of information supplied by each and every governmental body that works in the Amazon region.
