European defence procurement reform faces uphill struggle despite new code

A new code of conduct is being grounded for defence procurement in Europe to ensure the persistent global competitiveness of the European defence industry. However according to the European Defence Agency, the process towards an internationally competitive European defence equipment market and a strong defence technological and industrial base would be lengthy.

The tanker blame game

Article Abstract:

The Pentagon's inspector general (IG) blames senior Pentagon officials for the derailment of the US Air Force tanker deal citing three areas where they strayed from the normal acquisition route for tanker replacement. The IG is criticized by the US Air Force officials for failing to look into the role played by the White House in the deal.
