Expeditionary warfare gaining new emphasis

Article Abstract:

Expeditionary warfare is gaining importance in the Navy, Marine Corps and the US armed forces. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Gordon C. Nash, Director of the Expeditionary Warfare Division on the US Navy staff, has released a new 'Naval Amphibious Warfare Plan' that has warned expeditionary forces to be able to react to a vast array of situations with appropriate, immediate, efficient and decisive responses.

Article Abstract:

The concept of the US Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) of the US Navy has remarkable strengths as it offers the option of strategic strikes and a rapid response for contingency operations without a Carrier Strike Group. The ESG deployments since 2003 till date are illustrated.
