Long-distance communications

Article Abstract:

The US military depends on satellite communication (SATCOM) radios to provide beyond-line-of-sight, wireless, long-distance communications. Some of the communications equipment in use with the nation's armed forces include the PSC-5 Spitfire UHF SATCOM radio from Raytheon, the PSC-11 Single Channel Anti-jam Manportable MILSTAR tactical radio from Rockwell Collins and the Secure Mobile Antijam Reliable Tactical Terminal from Raytheon.

Eyes high over water: deliveries of new version of US Navy's E-2C early-warning aircraft begin

Article Abstract:

The US Navy is beginning to receive the Hawkeye 2000 version of the E-2C early warning and control aircraft. These aircraft have improved engines, propellers, communications and electronic support measures equipment, while new radar equipment is in development.
