For F/A-22, on to plan B

Article Abstract:

The Air Force and Defense department states that the US Air Force's top priority is procurement of F/A-22s Raptors. The Congressional action has thwarted a plan to increase the size of the Raptor purchase and sent the Air Force and the Pentagon back to the budgetary drawing board.

Transportable TSQ-81 systems provided radar tracking coverage over the Hanoi area. This allowed B-52s to accurately strike targets and minimize collateral damage by flying to specific bomb drop locations.
