German task group completes SEF 2005 operational exercises

Article Abstract:

The German Navy has completed its annual Standard-Einsatzausbildungsverband der Flotte (SEF) 2005 maritime exercise in the North Sea and the Baltic. The main aim of the SEF is to improve the interoperability between the German Navy's various flotillas and it is designed to test not only traditional warfare skills but also crisis-response, peacekeeping, interception and non-combatant evacuation operations and force-protection capabilities.

Combating the 21st century terrorist threat

Article Abstract:

Admiral Michael Tracey, Commander of Carrier Strike Group 10, is responsible for directing the significant combat power and capability of his Carrier Strike Group in order to accomplish its mission in the most effective and efficient way possible with an acceptable level of risk. He said that the United States Navy is fundamentally changing the way to invest, operate, connect and respond to deal with 21st century threats.
