Global Hawk demonstration success takes ISR procurement one step closer

Article Abstract:

The removal of one of the major obstacle for a new wide area intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) system, has led Germany to get closer to launch the procurement of the project. This was done by the successful completion of a two-week electronic intelligence (ELINT) demonstration in German controlled airspace with a US Air Force Northrop Grumman RQ-4A Global Hawk high-altitude, long-endurance (HALE) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

Ericsson begins study of foliage-penetrating ground surveillance radar on Gripen fighters

Article Abstract:

Ericsson Microwave Systems of Gothenburg, Sweden , is studying the possible future application of its Carabas foliage-penetrating VHF-band airborne ground surveillance radar on the Saab JAS 39 Gripen fighter aircraft. The studies are used to identify the way in which Carabas technology could be employed within the Swedish armed forces.
