Gondola accident victims' families awarded compensation

Article Abstract:

The Italian government on Feb 2000 awarded nearly $2 million to each of the families of 20 people in a ski gondola accident in Aviano, Italy, involving an EA-6B Prowler military aircraft. The plane, which was on a low level training flight that carried it over a ski resort in the Dolomite Mountains, strayed below its authorized altitude of 1,000 ft and struck and severed the gondola cable of the ski lift. Its pilot and navigator have both been discharged from the Marine Corps.

There's a right word for it

Article Abstract:

The lessons on word usage taught by Prof. Argus Tresidder in Command and Staff College at Quantico in the 1970s are highlighted. Though today's formal schools have proactive writing programs and computer software available to make the writer's work easier, some of the word usage problems of 30 years ago are still present today.
