Insensitive munitions: background and technology

Article Abstract:

Insensitive munitions, or weapons having low vulnerabilities to heat, fire and other unplanned stimuli that they respond by either burning or mild explosion, are regarded as the most important invention in munition and propellant technologies. Reduction in the level of response to unplanned stimuli and reduction in the attrition rates of munitions subjected to enemy attack are some of the advances achieved in insensitive munitions. These achievements in insensitive munitions could truly revolutionize weapons handling and stocking procedures.

All Electric Combat Vehicle (AECV) - vision and reality

Article Abstract:

The application of new technologies could lead to the development of new generation All Electric Combat Vehicle. Some of the new technologies that could enhance modern combat vehicles include diesel-electric drive and high-performance pulse technology integrated with electric weapons such as electromagnetic guns, electrothermal gun (ETK) and electrothermal-chemical gun (ETC). The application of these technologies could greatly enhance AECV's lethality, mobility and survivability.
