Iraqi Freedom leaves heavy force debates unresolved

Article Abstract:

The Iraqi Freedom campaign illustrated the benefits and disadvantages of the use of heavy forces. The benefits included the achievement of offensive momentum, while the disadvantages included the effort needed to transport the heavy equipment to the region in which they were required. The future of the use of heavy forces is in question.

Thoughts on the future force: A review

Article Abstract:

The US Army from past several years has attempted to transform itself into the force best suited for the 21st century while taking an active role in the global war on terrorism. A review that illustrates the degree to which the Army seems mindful of their views in its pursuit of transformation is presented.

News call: Operation new market in Iraq

Article Abstract:

Coalition and Iraqi forces have launched a number of operations to arrest and detain suspected insurgents and disrupt their operations. Coalition troops and Iraqi security forces (ISF) completed Operation New Market, which focused on disrupting insurgent activity in Haditha and the surrounding area.
