Netherlands orders support vessel for work in the Caribbean

Article Abstract:

The Netherlands Ministry of Defence has given a contract to Damen Shipyards to build a new logistic support vessel for the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN). The vessel, which is to be named HrMs Pelikaan (A 804), is to replace the current HrMs Pelikaan (A 801) and is much faster than the existing vehicle.

Denmark begins enhancement work

Article Abstract:

The Royal Danish Air Force (RDAF), in partnership with Terna A/S (Lystrup, Denmark) and EADS Defence Electronics (Ulm, Germany), has launched a national programme to enhance the operational effectiveness and survivability of its Lockheed Martin F-16AM/BM fighters. According to the head of F-16 activities at the Danish Air Material Command, Kai Poulsen, F-16 will continue in front-line RDAF service until 2020 and will carry the full operational burden with 48 deployable aircraft, until at least 2018.
