KASSTA for German/Polish artillery cooperation

Article Abstract:

Wegmann of Germany and Huta Stalowa Wola of Poland plan to form a joint venture to produce a "Polonized" version of the PzH-2000 155mm SP gun/howitzers. The joint venture, which will be called KASSTA (Kassel + Stalowa Wola), will be created once Wegmann wins a competition to supply the Polish Army with more than 100 modern NATO-standard 155mm SP systems. Wegmann, which is bidding the PzH-2000, is widely expected to win the contract over VSEL, which is offering the AS-90, and Dubnica of Slovakia, which is offering the ZUZANA-HIMALAYA.

TRD-1211 long-range 3D surveillance radar

Article Abstract:

The TRD-1211 surveillance radar, fitted with a Mark XII IFF system, can be employed as an effective source of data for C31 (Communication, Control, Command, Information) systems. Featuring a planar antenna with very low sidelobe level, the TRD-1211 offers automatic tracking of as many as 120 targets with semi-automatic or automatic track initiation. A self- contained, transportable system, TRD-1211 is engineered as a source of data for air defence systems.
