Bernhard Gerwert, CEO and President of EADS Defense Electronics, outlines the main aim of the EDAS Defense Electronics (DE), which develops and produces the key technologies necessary for EADS platforms and also provides other manufacturers with intelligent solutions. DE is faced with international competition and its top technologies include sensor fusion, radars, infantryman of the future, and self-protection systems.

New armed forces for the Slovak Republic

Lt. Gen. Milan Cerovsky, Chief of General Staff of the Slovak Armed Forces, explains about the rationale of the implementation of the first steps of a large-scale reform process and also provides the details of its timetable. The reform of the Slovak Armed Forces is likely to take place between 2002 and 2010 and full modernization might be achieved by 2015.
