U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock division

Article Abstract:

Captain Steven Petri, Commander of the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Carderock division, a scientific laboratory and an engineering center, is responsible for ships and ship systems in the U.S. Navy. He shares his experiences and responsibilities as commander of NSWC where they handle the hull, mechanical, and electrical aspects of Navy ships and submarines, and are responsible for the entire spectrum of ship and ship system technologies.

Frank Mungo, Executive Vice President of Marketing Naval Marine, Rolls Royce, describes the future role of electrical systems for propulsion, weapons, hotel loads, ship stabilizers and aircraft catapults. He talks about the various range of products produced by the company and about the effect of electrical systems, electrical power supply for the next generation of warships.
