Limited defensive operations

Article Abstract:

The United States is continuing to develop capabilities to counter the threat of ballistic missiles, however, it faces a formidable challenge of establishing a ballistic missile defense system (BMDS) for protecting all 50 states. Secretary of Defense guidance emphasizes on providing limited defensive operations and developing a BMDS, as adequate and timely delivery of a missile defense capability protects the nation's ability to mobilize and respond to worldwide crisis.
