Lines in the sand: Containing the greater Darfur conflict

The battles in Sudan have increased since the Darfur Peace Agreement, which was signed in May 2006. The Western resolve to intervene in Darfur is strengthened by the spread of conflict into Chad and the Central African Republic during 2006.

Rebel rabble: Darfur's fragmenting insurgency

Factors related to fragmentation of rebel groups and emergence of new rebel factions in Darfur is presented. The Khartoum regime promotes this process to pose challenges in reaching a peace agreement with the rebels.
