Lloyd's announces new rules for naval surface ships

Article Abstract:

Lloyd's Register, the leading commercial-classification society, made public its new rules for the design, construction and maintenance of naval surface ships. The new rules were a product of collaboration among Lloyd's Register, the UK Ministry of Defence, the British defense industry and the Defence Evaluation & Research Agency. The rules provide a comprehensive package available for the lifetime care of all types of naval vessels from dockyard tenders to aircraft carriers.

BAE Systems prime contractor for U.K. CVF carrier program

Article Abstract:

BAE Systems is selected by the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense (MOD) as the prime contractor for the design, development, construction, systems integration, and support of the Royal Navy's two aircraft carriers. The aircrafts that are being built under the Future Carrier Program (CVF) represents the largest single naval procurement, production and support program that the United Kingdom has seen in more than 50 years.
