Futuristic Army vision

Article Abstract:

The US Amry is expected to introduce by the end of 2010 a light but lethal Future Combat System (FCS) that will ultimately replace its Abrams tanks and other heavy armored vehicles. Scheduled to enter production by 2008, FCS will be a mounted tactical force with systems far lighter and probably more lethal than existing armored vehicles. The system, or systems, will be an ensemble of capabilities, a set of integrated combat functions distributed on the battlefield.
