MPRI: Washington's freelance advisors

Article Abstract:

Military Professional Resources Inc. (MPRI), a Virginia-based company, is engaged in providing training services for military organizations around the world. The company, founded in 1987 by retired US military officers, is completely owned and run by retired military officers. The company offers a number of core and current programs, which cover, among others, strategic and operational planning and simulations. MPRI has in its database over 7,000 potential employees, which include senior commanders and non-commissioned officers, allowing it to satisfy quickly the requirements of its clients.

DRS aims at mid-tier

Article Abstract:

DRS Technologies Chmn, Pres and CEO Mark S Newman says that his company is aiming to be a mid-tier naval electronics technology leader. The company hopes to achieve this through acquisitions. In 1998, it has acquired Hadland Photonics in the UK and two electro-optical systems businesses from Raytheon Co. DRS is also in the process of acquiring Hauppauge, NY- based NAI Techologies Inc.

Phalanx casts net for land applications

Article Abstract:

US-based Raytheon Company has unveiled in 2006 plans to market its Phalanx weapon system internationally as a land-based high-value site-defence system. The Land-based Phalanx Weapon system (LPWS), a reconfigured version of Raytheon's Naval Close-In Support Weapon (CISW), forms part of the US Army's Counter-Rocket, Artillery and Mortar (C-RAM) programme.
