Marine Corps Reserve Association

Article Abstract:

The Marine Corps Reserve Association (MCRA), which celebrated its 80th anniversary on November 10, 2006, supports the Corps and its reservists as an important advocate for continued professionalism and development of the Reserve Component. An account of the history of the Marine Forces Reserve, the critical role played by the MCRA in its creation and its role in preserving the Marine Corps is presented.

Expeditionary strike group operations

Article Abstract:

The Navy and Marine Corps have trained and forward deployed three flag officer-led ESGs (Expeditionary Strike Group) since it was initiated in November 2002. The Navy and Marine Corps are yet to achieve consensus on the appropriate command and control construct, force structure and required operating capabilities for the ESG.

Expeditionary strike group concepts and recommendations: Defining the ESG, its capabilities and potential pitfalls

Article Abstract:

The Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) is an organization that has enormous potential for empowering the Navy-Marine team. The good and bad potentialities of the ESGs are discussed so that informed decisions can be made regarding the future of ESGs.
