Marine Corps values program in 2001: where are we now?

The Marine Corps Values Program was introduced in 1996, but in many ways the program has not met expectations. The program touches on the basic values of being a Marine, and should be emphasized by the leadership of the Corps. Program specifics are discussed.

Infantry assault engineers: an old (world) approach for engineer close combat support

Article Abstract:

The need to frequently wait for engineer support is an ongoing problem for Marine combat units. This problem could be solved by introducing a platoon of assault engineers into each Marine infantry battalion. The advantages of such a move are discussed.

Thoughts on uniforms; the proper wearing of uniforms is an essential component of discipline

Article Abstract:

A retired Marine officer expresses his dissatisfaction with the increased use of casual uniforms, when dress uniforms would be more appropriate. In particular, there is too much emphasis put on the wearing of utilities and camouflage utilities.
