Maritime variant or Rooivalk

Article Abstract:

Denel Aviation of South Africa is developing a maritime version of the Rooivalk attack helicopter, which will incorporate a 360-degree search radar, instead of the chin cannon turret. The maritime Rooivalk will also have a nose-mounted optronic sensor turret, flotation gear on the sponsons and the tail boom as well as manual folding rotor blades. The Rooivalk is touted to make use of armor protection and battle damage tolerance in times of closer engagements.
