Martin withdraws nomination for US Pacific command post

Article Abstract:

Air Force Gen. Gregory S. Martin has formally withdrawn his name from nomination to be the commander of the U.S. Pacific Command following an acrimonious Senate Armed Services Committee confirmation hearing on 6 October 2004. He would be retained as the commander of Air Force Material Command.

Gen. W.L. Creech, 1927-2003

Article Abstract:

Retired Gen. W.L. Creech, head of Tactical Air Command (TAC), was one of the most influential Air Force officers. Creech had helped to create a culture of excellence at TAC, setting high standard for performance and integrity.
