Modern drive systems for 21st century AFVs (II)

Article Abstract:

The evolution process of the power trains for both tracked and wheeled AFVs as well as tactical transport vehicles can be described as the progressive refinement of construction concepts. A hybrid-electric drive system offers several advantages over conventional schemes, and appears to be the most promising solution for both wheeled and tracked AFVs.

Mine protection for AFVs

Article Abstract:

Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFVs) by their very nature are expected to provide their crew with a level of protection and overall survivability that corresponds to the threats the vehicles are expected to encounter during their missions. Details of the AFVs and the various mine protection devices attached with the AFVs are discussed.
