Dutch seek solutions for personal armour

Article Abstract:

The modern Dutch troops rely on a combination of soft armour ballistic protective vests and ceramic plate hard armour inserts, which provide a high degree of protection against small-arms fire, knives, flechettes and fragments. A combination of a baseline, default ballistic protection for relatively low-threat environments with an upgrade of the protection level by adding additional modules are further proposed to deal with the recognized weight burden for the soldier.
