NATO launches TMD effort

Article Abstract:

NATO will conduct a feasibility study to determine the optimal architecture for an integrated Theater Missile Defense (TMD) network in what could be first real step the alliance has taken to address the growing threat of theater ballistic missiles. Critical elements of the NATO-envisioned TMD network include upper layer defense, lower layer defense, naval systems, early warning and battle management command, control and intelligence (BMC3I).
