NH-90 enters series production

Article Abstract:

The NH-90 transport helicopter will go into production after a Production Investment and Production (PI/P) contract was signed between Philippe Stuckelberger, general manager of NH Industries and Helmuth Heumann, general manager of NAHEMA. The PI/P contract has a total value of 6.6 billion euros for the assembly of 298 NH-90s. The four participating nations, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands, will equally share the NH-90s total production costs. The deal makes the NH-90 the biggest helicopter program to be launched in Europe.

The NH90 programme: how it works

Article Abstract:

The working group system that was adopted for NH90 program, which NH Industries is the prime contractor, has been proven effective in terms of cost reduction and harmonizing the different transport helicopter requirements of the four participating nations, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. A total of 12 working groups were established to oversee the various aspects of the project.
