National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA's) role is to assess and predict environmental changes, protect life and property, provide decision makers with reliable scientific information, and manage the nation's living marine and coastal resources. NOAA's goals require complete intra-office cooperation and collaboration with local, state, other federal agency, and international programs for success.

Tim Fanning elected national president during annual convention in Reno

Article Abstract:

Rear Admiral (Ret.) Fanning, USNR, was elected to a two-year term and will preside over the Centennial Celebration in New York next year. He has been involved with the Navy League for more than 25 years. Details of the election of other officers and national directors are also included.

Ward succeeds Smith as NSCC national chairman; Learson elected as NSCC's new national president

Article Abstract:

The Naval Sea Cadet Corps elected new officers in Jun 2001 and tended to other organization business at the same meeting. The new chairman, James Ward, addressed pressing issues. Award winners are also listed.
