New dimension in Naval firepower

Article Abstract:

The concept of surface combatant firepower called MONARC (Modular Naval Artillery Concept for Naval Gun Fire), which proposes to increase range and effectiveness of ship-mounted artillery and ammunition was proposed by a consortium consisting of Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW), Krauss-Maffel Wegmann (KMW) and Rheinmetall W&M. The MONARC will give a solution to the problem of providing a long-range land attack capabilities for naval guns in ships of frigate and corvette size.

The 'all electricity ship' becoming reality

Article Abstract:

Rolls Royce Naval Marine is all set for the realization of the 'all electric ship', as it can provide most of the components that are required for the ship. The experience of Marine Electrical Systems in commercial sector as well as that accrued on current naval projects would put Rolls-Royce is a strong position to play the lead role in future naval developments such as RN CVF, the Franco-Italian FREMM frigates and the USN DD(X) destroyers.

The US campaign in Afghanistan is not supported as widely as the US had hoped, perhaps because of US support of Israel in its continuing conflicts with the Palestinians.
