Raytheon to upgrade EP-3Es with JMOD 1

Article Abstract:

Raytheon Co has received a contract to upgrade the Navy's EP-3E land-based reconnaissance aircraft with the Joint Signals Intelligence Avionics Family Modernization 1 (JMOD 1). The Naval Air Systems Command contract, worth $31.4 million, calls for Raytheon to integrate and test the JMOD 1 systems, upgrade the EP-3E aircraft with the new systems and provide logistics support for the upgraded systems.

Northrop Grumman jamming system enters low-rate initial production

Article Abstract:

A $91.8 million contract for the design and low-rate initial production of 10 Increased Capability III (ICAP III) upgrade kits and associate spare parts and also the installation of the systems in Navy's EA-6B Prowler aircraft is awarded to Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems. ICAP III has the ability to protect the fliers against the future's surface-to-air missiles and also to identify and accurately locate those threats so that it can be targeted and destroyed.

Companies studying persistent unmanned maritime ISR for Navy

Article Abstract:

The US Navy has commissioned studies to aid development of a system-level alternative that can provide optimal unmanned persistent maritime intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, while leveraging existing and projected capabilities. Contracts of approximately $1 million were awarded for initial five-month studies to four defense contractors.
