Outrider UAV added to TCS success string

Article Abstract:

The US Navy's Tactical Control System (TCS) achieved a development success aboard the Outrider unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) during testing at the Alliant Techsystems facility in Glasscock, TX. The TCS has proven itself capable as a ground station for controlling the Predator, Outrider, Prowler, and GNAT-750 UAVs. The system is scheduled for a launch-and- recovery test aboard a Predator in June 1999.

Naval gazing: emerging expeditionary capabilities in the western Pacific

Article Abstract:

Various countries of western Pacific region are strengthening their naval forces, reflecting their security concerns. In July 2007 China released contract for components of an indigenously built aircraft carrier whereas in June 2007 Australia released contract for its naval combat modernization program which is the largest till date.

EuroSats. Europeans Striving To Develop Independent Space Capabilities

Article Abstract:

The European Rapid Reaction Force is working to overcome some existing shortcomings, most notably with respect to communication satellites. Thus, in February, the European Space Agency launched satellites using an Ariane 4 rocket based in French Guiana.
