Outsourcing bug bites NATO: Maintenance Support Agency is key to joint alliance activities

Article Abstract:

North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Maintenance Support Agency (NAMSA), which was created to help European countries in purchasing United States combat aircraft in the 1950s, has links with the industry, which has helped it in its out-of-area operations. NAMSA is responsible for providing theaterwide catering support to the NATO forces in Balkans, performing the contracting work for Afghanistan in Europe and outsourcing the heavy airlift capacity from Russia and Ukraine for the European national contingents of the International Security Assistance Force.

Changing of the guard: NATO expands ops in Afghanistan

Article Abstract:

The possibility of combining NATO's international security assistance force (ISAF) with U.S. led the Operation Enduring Freedom to the expansion of ISAF beyond Kabul, Afghanistan. The details regarding the participation of Partnership for Peace nations in various ways are discussed and also found that NATO and Partnership for Peace nations offered human intelligence, counterintelligence and medium reconnaissance teams.
