The Holocene lithostratigraphy of Fenland, eastern England: a review and suggestions for redefinition

Article Abstract:

A study of Holocene, found in Fenland, eastern England, lithostratigraphic schemes shows that there are two main problems in the schemes proposed at different times. There is no clear concept about stratigraphic method and it is difficult fit in all the data into one simple stratigraphic scheme. The deposits in Fenland keep changing and one scheme cannot be applied to whole of the basin. The method has to be put into regional subdivisions and many stratotypes.
