Seapower/NOAA

Article Abstract:

The Commerce Dept's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is tasked with forecasting and protecting the oceanic and atmospheric environment within the US. The agency works closely with the National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service, the National Marine Fisheries Service, the National Ocean Service, the National Weather Service and the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research, which includes the Environmental Research Laboratories. The NOAA has adopted the missions of environmental assessment/prediction and environmental stewardship to continue to fulfill a tradition of scientific service to the public.
