Shaping the battlespace

Article Abstract:

Marine Corps will employ Operational Maneuver from the Sea (OMFTS) to comfort emerging threats on increasingly nonlinear and noncontiguous battlefields and retain ability to conduct forcible entry and sustained operations ashore. The Corps will employ a 120mm mortar platoon organic to infantry regiment with a Reserve scout platoon in direct assignment, as it needs to provide the regiments with their own indirect fire support and scouting ability to influence battlespace.

Aviation logistics

Article Abstract:

Marine aviation has performed remarkably well despite of adverse conditions and logistics challenges whose success is based upon time-tested fundamentals of the Marine Aviation Logistics Support Program (MALSP). Marine aviation has embarked on a road of tighter integration with the naval aviation enterprise (NAE) by participating more fully in the Naval Aviation Readiness Integrated Improvement Program (NAvRIIP) process.

The implications of distributed operations

Article Abstract:

The concept of distributed operations (DO) lying in the process of obtaining intelligence, status reports, human sensors from adjacent units. The Marine Corps developing communication programs with the help of technology such as the command and control on-the-move network, digital over-the-horizon relay (CONDOR) for DO.
