South African valour class boosts navy's capability

Article Abstract:

South African Navy (SAN) is set to become a major player in regional security operations by its Valours, which would help in restoring the 'blue water' and regional capability lost with the last Type 12 frigate decommissioned in 1985. Their existing range of more than 8,000 n miles and their 28-day endurance would enable the SAN to complement other African navies effectively.
