Strong partnership for exports Ferrostaal and the German naval group

Article Abstract:

Blohm and Voss, the IIDW Group and Thyssen Nordseewerke, which are the major German shipyards, have joined forces along with Ferrostaal, a commercial group to strengthen the competitive position for exports. The joint forces have created the German Naval Group incorporating the German Fryate Consortium (GFC) and the German Submarine Consortium (GSC) and they are successful in exporting submarines as well as corvettes and frigates, which have put naval vessels from Germany in leading positions in the world market.

4th German Maritime conference: Great optimism but no 'European EADS' in the near future

Article Abstract:

More than 800 delegates from all sectors of the German maritime community assembled at the Bremen Congress Center on 25th January 2005 to attend the 4th German Maritime conference. The proceedings of the conference, which was initiated by the German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder in 2000, and the future of the European shipbuilding industry are discussed.
