Super Sprite nears big test 'pass'

Article Abstract:

Kaman Aerospace Corp is close to completing flight tests of the refined digital Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS), which will be incorporated into the SH-2G Super Sprite naval helicopters of Australia. The AFCS is being designed specifically for the Australian SH-2G(A), which is slated to conduct its first flight in late 1999. The programmable AFCS is expected to improve the SH-2G(A)'s reliability and functionality.

Funding shortfalls hinder Bangladesh's focus on enhanced naval capabilities

Article Abstract:

Bangladesh Navy wants to develop into a balanced three dimensional force but the funding shortages hamper its developmental plans. The navy is given the additional responsibilities of protecting the country's long-standing fisheries and the large offshore hydrocarbon resources along with constabulary-type operations and disaster managements but the funding remain uncertain.

Defence cutbacks hit Royal Netherlands Navy

The Defense Ministry of Holland announced major cutbacks for the Royal Netherlands Navy. The government announced the cutbacks on September 16, 2003.
