Netherlands weighs downsizing navy
Article Abstract:
The Dutch Ministry of Defense's Integral Defense Plan (IDP) 2004-2013 continues with the downsizing and restructuring of Dutch forces, which began under Defense White Paper 2000. Some of the major force reductions and restructuring programs envisioned under IDP 2004-2013 include early decommissioning of four navy frigates, decommissioning of two coastal minehunters, and cancellation of plans for a third ready Marine Battalion.
