Survival skills for the junior officer

Article Abstract:

Junior staff officers rarely get enough instruction dedicated to training them on the way to succeed on a battalion or regimental staff although many junior officers have spent time in academies and military (MOS) schools. Marine Corps Doctrinal Publication suggest that relations among all leaders should be based on honesty and frankness regardless of disparity between grades however, once the decision is reached, junior must support it as if it were their own.

Article Abstract:

A need to change the personnel assignment policies to better support the rapid dynamic global war on terrorism (GWOT) is recommended. The best way is, decentralizing personnel assignment authority to the user level while enabling that user to move personnel seamlessly between the various assignment opportunities available.
