The Marine Corps transforms recruits into 'Warrior Athletes' with help from certified athletic trainers

Article Abstract:

The Marine Corp launched a pilot program with certified athletic trainers (ATCs) based on the public health model, which emphasizes 'primary injury prevention' and 'secondary injury prevention'. The ATCs' long-term goal is to reduce the number of recruits lost from the Marine Corps due to injury, as well as to enhance the health and fitness of new Marines as they enter their units.
