The shape of brigades to come

Article Abstract:

Three competing views are dominating the debate over the future of land power, but without a commitment to create new, modular, aero-mechanized units the transformation will just remain a paper vision. The advantages and disadvantages of the technological approach to transformation, the European view of transformation and the expeditionary view of land power transformation are discussed.

War with implacable foes: What all statesmen and generals need to know

Article Abstract:

Clausewitz defined war as political conflict that has crossed the threshold from the use of peaceful means to primordial violence. Corssing this threshold introduces discontinuities, and while the conflict still remains political at heart, its nature changes states as much as when water becomes ice.
