The virtual combat convoy trainer: Saving lives in Iraq

Article Abstract:

The success story of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM is the military response to convoy operations have provided critical supplies to Baghdad and other major operations centers deep in Iraq since the transition from major combat action to postconflict reconstruction. Lockheed Martin's virtual combat convoy trainer (VCCT) provides the virtual, intensive and integrated convoy training critical in achieving the quality of skills needed in accomplishing the missions.

Saving Marines' lives

Article Abstract:

Government Accountability Office (GAO) considers that the Navy is generally ill-equipped for littoral operations, so it has focused on the deficiency that would most seriously affect marines in future littoral conflicts- the absence of any effective NSFS. Forcible entry from the sea (FEFS) capability requires effective naval surface fire support.

Tank-infantry integration

Article Abstract:

Company C, 1st Tank Battalion's participation in the battle of Fallujah, Operation Valiant Response is discussed with emphasis on tank-infantry integration at tactical level. The offensive, a response to the murder of four American security contractors, was conducted with a constricted planning time-line.
