Tigers evolve: The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam's developing suicide attack methods

Article Abstract:

No insurgent group is better at tactical innovation in land as well as maritime suicide operations than the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam's who change their modus operandi effectively each time the Sri Lankan government institutes new anti-terrorist measures. Counter-terrorist agencies would do well to take pre-emptive action to diffuse the threat posed by such tactical developments by terrorists.

The strategy of separatist success in Sri Lanka: Training the tigers

Article Abstract:

The tactics and strategies used by the ethnic separatist Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in Sri Lanka are examined. The LTTE's reputation has come from its ability to use lessons learnt on the battlefield in its operational innovations and it is prepared to learn from its own mistakes along with those of the Sri Lankan security forces.

Australia's mass transport network remains vulnerable

Article Abstract:

Due to its alliance with the US and support of the war on terrorism, the Australia's mass surface transport system is increasingly vulnerable to the danger of a terrorist attack. An overview of counter-terrorism measures in place on the transport network is presented and the potential improvements to current security measures are identified.
