Countersniper operations: Observations from a recent development

Article Abstract:

Traditionally countersniper operations are considered the best tool to kill an enemy sniper, where there is an integrated support from friendly forces. The whole of the operation is conducted in three phases namely sweep and identify, conceal and protect and thirdly surge and destroy, wherein the whole sniper teams should communicate to all friendly posts in order to maintain awareness and avoid any deconflicting issues.

Holding the cordon

Article Abstract:

Cordon and search depends on adaptations of basic military operations on urbanized terrain (MOUT) principles, afteraction reports, and learning adaptations in the nation. MOUT must be aimed at dismounts attacking and vehicles and accompanied at the battalion level and below.
