Command and control for Marine special operations: Questions need to be answered

Article Abstract:

The Marine Corps formally established the US Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MarSOC), the Marine element of US Special Operations Command (USSOCom) at Camp Lejeune on 24 February 2006. The MarSOC established was the first step on an aggressive schedule that would ultimately result in a force of approximately 2,600 Marines under command of MajGen Dennis J. Hejlik.

Article Abstract:

Military operations on urbanized terrain (MOUT) have created casualty figures that are extraordinary compared to similar operations conducted in different types of environments. Some of the lessons learned during MOUT in the battle for Fallujah in Iraq are highlighted.

Article Abstract:

The civil affairs (CA), post exchange (PX) and mortuary affairs (MA) should be essentially part of any postwar operations. The positive effects of these services in postwar Iraq during Phase IV operations played a significant role.
