UK studies fast ship enablers for future warships

Article Abstract:

The Fast Ship Technology Enablers study undertaken by BMT Defense Services Ltd to inform the UK Ministry of Defense (MoD) about the technical maturity of key efast shipE technologies and their applicability to future naval platforms is nearing conclusion. The results of the study would assist the MoD in identifying the opportunities and constraints presented by the application of fast-ship technologies in the military environment.

QinetiQ selects Babcock for advanced technology mast programme

Article Abstract:

Babcock Design & Technology is planning to sign an agreement with UK science and technology group QinetiQ in the design, manufacture and installation of an Advanced Technology Mast (ATM) aboard the UK Royal Navy (RN) aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal. Babcock Design & Technology will refine QinetiQ's global mast design to produce final detailed and workable drawings before going on to manufacture and deliver mast.

UK lets study for heavy lift "mothership" concept

Information regarding a research contract awarded to BMT Defense Services Limited for the study of a mother daughter ship concept for the United Kingdoms navy is given. By using the concept a mother ship with a large crave would carry and deliver several smaller attack vessels to distant areas.
