US Army aviation -- The way forward

Article Abstract:

The US Army along with Services in the Joint Force is engaged in protecting the US security interests at home and abroad, where Aviation has played a central role in the success. The Army has made the procurement of Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) as its highest priority to sustain combat operations and increase survivability for aircrews.

The 2001 US Army modernisation plan

Article Abstract:

This lengthy article describes the U.S. Army's efforts to reinvent itself to more effectively combat terrorism. The effort began in October 1999, and is still ongoing. Critical to this effort is integration of what is termed the legacy forces.

The future combat systems programme. Supporting the US transformation to the Objective Force

This article describes the effort by the U.S. Army and the DARPA to develop the Future Combat System (FCS). The goal of FCS is to restructure the Army to become a more efficient military force.
